Watermelon "Nice".
Early variety: 78-90 days from full germination to first fruit harvest. The plant is climbing, the length of the main vine is 1.5-2 meters. The fruit is broadly oval, smooth, light green, with dark green scalloped stripes, weighing 4.2-6.1 kg. The bark is strong, 1-1.5 cm thick. The pulp is red, juicy, granular, sugary.
The variety is characterized by high shelf life and transportability, and is moderately resistant to fusarium and anthracnose.
Agrotechnics.
Sowing seedlings - in early May. Planting seedlings in open ground - at the end of May - beginning of June in the phase of 3-4 true leaves. Planting pattern 100x100 cm.
In the southern regions it can be grown by direct sowing in the ground in April-May.
When grown under film covers, plants are formed into one stem (all side shoots are removed to a height of 50 cm, subsequent ones are pinched over 1-3 leaves), tied to a trellis.
For good growth and abundant fruiting, plants need timely watering, regular weeding and fertilizing with mineral fertilizers.
